David: coping with COVID

For many of the people supported by Minstead Trust the coronavirus lockdown was a time of uncertainty and worry.

A complicated situation was difficult to comprehend and it led to many of their routines being disrupted and many people being unable to see family and friends.

David is one of the people we support to live in their own home, this is his lockdown experience.

‘I missed my parents, my brother and sister in law. But I’m not too worried about them as they are staying alert and staying home. I missed my work experience and the football – I support Saints.

‘I have stayed busy doing baking, gardening, going for walks and even doing fundraising challenges for Minstead. It was called the 2.6 challenge and we did yoga, dancing and even a disco in the garden – I like to DJ.

‘I was pleased to get a haircut after lockdown!’
