Welcome Host at Furzey Gardens

£11.50 per hour (subject to increase in April)

Working Days: Saturday, Sunday 09:30 – 15:30 (13 hours per week)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract up until 05 October 2025

As a Welcome Host at Furzey Gardens, you will be responsible for welcoming and engaging with our visitors, ensuring that their experience at the Gardens is as enjoyable as possible.

The role:

  • To provide a consistently warm, professional, and efficient welcome to the garden’s entrance, and through a positive approach, ask for donations on entry to the garden
  • Respond to visitor feedback in a professional and timely manner, escalating when necessary
  • Ensure the welcome and plant sales area are welcoming, clean, tidy and stocked
  • To support with the collection of visitor data
  • Promoting garden and tearoom offers, activities and services
  • To work closely with the volunteers at Furzey Gardens, ensuring that all are kept up to date with customer information.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong communication skills
  • Outgoing, honest and approachable individuals
  • Calm under pressure
  • A minimum of 3 years of customer service experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable people and learning disabilities (desirable)
  • Excellent time management
