We are seeking a friendly, dynamic and practical volunteer to assist our small but busy facilities team with some general maintenance at Minstead Lodge.
Minstead Lodge is a beautiful, grade two listed forming hunting lodge, located in the heart of the New Forest. It is home to our charity HQ and our New Forest based Day Opportunities centre for adults with learning disabilities.
Helping to support our team with the general and constant upkeep of the buildings on site, this role would ideally suit someone with good practical DIY skills and some sound knowledge of how to handle tools and work safely. Tasks could include painting and decorating, general fixing etc, – all dependent on your interest and experience.
Although part of a team, there may be occasions when you might work on your own, so the ability to feel confident using your own initiative is essential. Some heavy lifting may also be required at times so volunteers should be reasonably physically fit.
As a guide, we would welcome help at times to suit the volunteer, but would suggest a minimum of 2-3 hours per session between the hours of 9:30am – 4pm, Mon – Fri.
Minstead Trust is a charity based in the New Forest and Portsmouth which offers a range of Supported Living, Residential Care, Day Opportunities, Community Programmes and Social Enterprises (including Furzey Gardens and Hanger Farm Arts Centre) to over 270 adults with learning disabilities. Supporting them, and their families, we provide opportunities that encourage the people we support to develop greater independence. We do this through improved health and well-being, the development of life skills and increasing employability.
