Food Production Assistant for the Real Jam & Chutney Company

22.5 hours per week

Salary: £14,508 per annum (£24,180 FTE)

Location: Minstead, New Forest

As a Food Production Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team. You’ll be responsible for assisting with the production of products within the Jam and Chutney range, ensuring customer demand is met. Assist person-centred support, guidance, encouragement and training to support the preparation and making of jam, marmalade and chutney for The Real Jam and Chutney company.

The role:

  • To work alongside the people we support, whilst recognising any progress and achievements they make
  • Provide guidance and direction to volunteers and support workers in assisting in activity delivery
  • To purchase ingredients as directed
  • To deliver the merchandise to local wholesalers and sellers as and when required
  • To attend food festivals, events and craft fairs to sell the produce
  • Attend internal and external meetings and briefings as required
  • Report resource requirements, issues or concerns to the Catering Manager and work in a solution-focused manner
  • Provide a safe working environment for all and follow safe working practices to a high standard in compliance with organisational and regulatory policies and best practices, ensuring delivery of a high-quality service.
  • To deputise for the Service Delivery Co-ordinator when they are on leave or absent, including light business admin.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working alongside adults with a learning disability
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team, demonstrating both tact and diplomacy
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and occasionally lone working
  • Experience or qualifications within Catering or production.
  • Experience in Safeguarding Adults and recognition of the importance of this
  • Due to the location and role a Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
