Wellbeing tip

As a carer or family member of someone with a learning disability it is important that you look after your physical and emotional wellbeing as much as you can.

The journey can be emotional and sometimes stress can be sneaky and creep up on us without us realising how much things are affecting us.

Try taking five minutes every day in the quiet, away from the day-to-day demands and noise and sit and check in with how you are feeling emotionally. You might be surprised at what you discover – awareness is everything.

As they say a problem shared is a problem halved. If you are concerned about your emotional wellbeing, try and reach out for support. Talk to your family, friends or GP.
