Lord Duxbury’s Christmas Party – murder mystery evening

When: 10 Nov 2023

Produced By: Organise Events

Join us for our ever-popular fiendish and fun murder mystery dining event, this time at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel.

Tickets are £47 per person and they include a two-course dinner from the hotel’s banquet menu, a welcome glass of bubbles and an after-dinner coffee.

Profit from ticket sales and monies raised on the night will be going to Minstead Trust, a learning disability charity based in Hampshire.

The theme for the dining event: 1920’s

The story :

Welcome to Lord Johnny Duxbury’s Christmas party.

The year is 1926.  The roaring twenties are in full swing. Meet Mitsy Wellbeloved, so vain and giddy, and known in some circles as a bit of a flibbertigibbet.

Henry ‘Pongo’ Brinkley is in town, hoping to pick up a little culture at the opera and, perhaps, find a wife.

You will be one of the bright young things partying the night away without a care in the world until…Inspector Catchem arrives with news of a murder!

A scandal would look dashed bad for everyone and no one wants their allowance cut off.  Lord Duxbury’s guests really do need your help in getting them out of this spot of bother.

Come along, pip pip, you’re needed to help solve the mystery and catch the murderer!

This is a fundraising event which is being kindly sponsored by Trethowans Solicitors. There will also be opportunities to purchase further clues and raffle tickets on the night in support of Minstead Trust.

How a murder mystery dining event works :

Come dressed in 1920’s garb if you wish, this is entirely optional.

Watch live actors play out scenes, whilst you enjoy dinner served at your table. Interrogate the characters and uncover the clues, before offering your solutions to solve the crime. A great fun night, come with friends, colleagues or even alone, you are sure to have a great time. The acting action is brought to you by the team from Organise Events Ltd.

Information about the dining event’s venue and event timings :

There is plenty of free parking at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel.  The dining event is being held in the Fair Oak Suite, with its own separate bar area and toilets.  The Fair Oak Suite has its own exclusive entrance at the hotel.

Doors open at 7pm to be seated for 7.30pm when the fun begins. The evening will close at around 10pm, with the option to stay in the bar until 11pm.

Room bookings can be made directly with the hotel.

How money is raised for charity :

Ticket sales profit, raffle on the night and the optional purchasing of extra clues help to raise money for Minstead Trust.

Useful information for booking your tickets :

Tables seat 10 guests. You can book a party of up to and including 10 people.  If you wish your party to be seated together, please book as one group at point of booking. Our system will allocate your seats together.  Therefore please have all your party’s menu choices and dietary requirements to hand before booking.  Menu choices are below.

Once you have booked, changes cannot be made.

If you have booked for less than 10 people, you may be joined at your table by other smaller groups – this adds to the fun and completes the table of 10.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds if you are unable to attend. However, you can gift your place (and chosen meal) to a friend – just let us know at least 48 hours beforehand by emailing lesley.brooks@minsteadtrust.org.uk
