This volunteer role is all about customer service; greeting our customers and helping to serve them hot drinks and light snacks in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. There may be some requirements to use the till and to generally help with keeping the café area clean, tidy and welcoming for our visitors.
Most importantly, we are seeking volunteers who would be happy to work alongside and support our café apprentices during the week. We currently have two apprentices undertaking work experience in the café at Hanger Farm, both of whom are very able to work independently, but who would welcome a little extra support and guidance with some specific tasks. During really busy times, our staff team cannot always be behind the bar to oversee their work, but we are really keen to ensure that they continue to feel fully supported.
Ideally, we’re seeking regular help between 10am and 3pm each day, Monday to Friday, but in the short term, we would also welcome help on an ad-hoc basis as fits in with you.
Location: Hanger Farm, Totton
Minstead Trust is a charity based in the New Forest and Portsmouth which offers a range of Supported Living, Residential Care, Day Opportunities, Community Programmes and Social Enterprises (including Furzey Gardens and Hanger Farm Arts Centre) to over 320 adults with learning disabilities. Supporting them, and their families, we provide opportunities which encourage the people we support to develop greater independence. We do this through improved health and well-being, the development of life skills and increasing employability.
