Money raised through the arts for Minstead Trust

Chris Thompson of the Southampton Classical Guitar Society presented a cheque for £895 last month to Kyle Maxwell of Hanger Farm Arts Centre, which is run by Minstead Trust.

The money was raised when the SCGS organised and performed a classical guitar recital held at Hanger Farm Arts Centre, featuring Vincent Lindsey-Clark and Eden Stell Guitar Duo and Friends. The event, held on October 2nd was a great success.

Lesley Brooks fundraising co-ordinator for Minstead Trust said: ‘we are extremely grateful to Chris Thompson for making this concert happen with leading guitarists, and holding it at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton, in addition, they have been so generous to donate ticket sales money to Minstead Trust.’

Chris Thompson from the SCGS said: ‘Southampton Classical Guitar Society is very happy to support this fantastic local charity and immensely pleased with the success of the fundraising effort. Hanger Farm is a great venue and we hope to repeat our success next year.’

Planning is already underway for another concert by the Southampton Classical Guitar Society to be held in the Autumn next year so look out for that in next year’s What’s On brochure.  Hanger Farm Arts Centre is located in Aikman Lane, West Totton and open to all for theatre, film, music, entertainment and arts, it is a social enterprise of Minstead Trust, a local charity that supports adults with learning disabilities.  Southampton Classical Guitar Society is a registered charity and meets monthly at Chandlers Ford St Boniface Church.
